Guide to Specialty Fitness, Rehab & Prevention Programs

We have developed a new guide to assist BeachWalk Fitness center participants understand the fitness and health management classes and programs we offer for those with specific health concerns.

Health Management

  • Diabetes fitness focuses on gentle exercises that help you lose weight, decrease the need for insulin, lower cholesterol and avoid complications. Referral by physician or medical professional required.
  • Osteo/arthritis fitness exercises help develop muscle strength, bone mass, reaction time, balance, stability...and reduce the risks of falling. Physician's referral recommended.
  • Weight management fitness focuses on weight loss or weight maintenance through exercise, cardio and strength, along with flexibility training.

Risk Factor Reduction and Cardiac Rehabilitation

This program caters to anyone who has a heart condition, has had a heart attack or is looking to reduce the risk of heart disease as well as other metabolic conditions. Your exercise sessions are monitored by a certified personal trainer to ensure safety and appropriate progression.

Joint Replacement Rehabilitation Program

Whether you've had a joint replaced or are waiting for surgery, you’ll need to strengthen muscles surrounding the joint, improve flexibility and mobility, and enhance your overall fitness. Our fitness consultants and certified personal trainers can supervise a carefully designed circuit in our weight room facilities. A physio referral is recommended.

Post-Surgery Rehab; guiding individuals through stretches and exercises that are safe to perform and also guiding individuals in different stages of strength and exercise after the surgery.

Ex. Hernia surgery, knee replacement, rotator cuff surgery etc...

Sports Injury Rehab

Guiding individuals through warm up stretches, (flexibility and mobility) strength training reconditioning and rest (while reducing inflammation and pain) how to improve and strength their specific injury without causing a reoccurring injury. Using modalities such as strength training and Fascial Stretch Therapy. (FST) to keep the connective tissue layer that covers the entire body healthy, stretched and absorbing nutrients.

Ex. Knee, back or shoulder injury etc..

Special Needs Training Programs

Guiding individuals through warm up stretches, (flexibility and mobility) strength training reconditioning and rest (while reducing inflammation and pain) in order to improve and strengthen their specific injury without causing a reoccurring injury. Using modalities such as strength training and Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) to keep the connective tissue layer that covers the entire body healthy, stretched and absorbing nutrients.
